Completed checks

  • Retrieved official NCBI metadata for all 58 PMID-bearing entries; all listed DOIs matched after case normalization. This is identity checking, not replication or clinical validation.
  • Read available PubMed abstracts for design, population, comparator and result alignment. Some records have no abstract and cannot be marked full-text checked.
  • Verified the remaining book identifier against the National Academies record.
  • Checked Sun et al. full-text Section 3.4: its postoperative conversion is IV morphine equivalents, with extreme heterogeneity. This differs from the oral morphine units in Hussain et al.; the estimates must not be combined casually.
  • Reran the five historical query strings through NCBI ESearch on 27 October. Counts were 0, 387, 18, 77 and 33, with quoted-phrase warnings. These are diagnostic search counts, not deduplicated or screened study counts.

Corrections and qualifications

The network meta-analysis's nonsignificant chronic-pain result is not proof that a technique has no effect. The review now uses detected-difference wording. The Chen trial's primary QoR finding is not an equivalence result or proof of an instrument-sensitivity problem.

The PONV fourth consensus, the ASRA antithrombotic fourth edition and the 2020 PROSPECT breast guideline are historical. In November 2026 the current versions were cited in the document bodies and added to 06_References.md as entries 60–66. These are the Fifth PONV consensus, the ASRA fifth edition (Kopp et al., 2025), the 2026 PROSPECT update (Desai et al., 2026) and the 2026 ASA local and regional analgesia guideline, together with Foo et al. 2021 and Verret et al. 2020. Those entries were identity-checked by web search of publisher, society and indexed PubMed listings, not by NCBI ESummary, because NCBI hosts were unreachable in that session. They are not in reference-identity-audit.json. The PMIDs for the Fifth PONV consensus and the Kharasch 2020 editorial are unverified, and the earlier link to PMID 41237407 was removed. IV lidocaine plus regional local anesthetics is not justified merely by a cumulative-dose calculation. A historical procedure-specific gabapentin recommendation does not erase later mixed-surgery benefit/harm evidence.

An apparently valid DOI does not authenticate every sentence citing it. Exact statistical extraction, full-text risk of bias, supplements, current product labeling, corrections/retractions, all search results, rights and external deposits have not received exhaustive review. The failed/partial historical queries do not support a claim that revision-specific research is absent.
